Hello Again!

I've had a little bit of a dry spell with my blogging habits lately; between work picking up, making time for new friends and "me" time, I've barely had any time to sit down and blog! I'll also admit that I'm my own worst enemy. I started getting really discouraged with blogging that I totally lost sight that I started Always Dress Prepfectly solely as a creative outlet. I'm still adjusting to my new life in Austin (even six months later!) and whenever I start stressing out, I find myself reading my favorite blogs and admiring different blogger's styles and creativity. After writing and deleting posts, I decided to finally bite the bullet and crank out a post!

So what's been new with me?

Lately, I've been on a huge home improvement kick! Specifically, the bar scene in my apartment. After coming across The EveryGirl (seriously check this site out, it's awesome!) article Three Ways to Style a Bar without a Bar Cart I had some serious inspiration (the kind that merited it's own Pinterest board, check it out here!).

At first I was just browsing but then I came across West Elm's "Party in a Box" and I was in love. I was able to snag one of the last one's in the store for $40! (Originally $150, what a steal!) It came with six votive holders, six champagne glasses, a shaker, a lacquered tray and not to mention the cute decorations (confetti included!!)!

...so began my bar accessorizing kick as well as my impulse purchases! Some of them include:

This cute Target decanter (only $9!)

Party Straws
(I bought mine from Etsy but I copied the EveryGirl and bought navy striped/gold chevron straws. I love how they look together!)

Design Darling's "Drink More Gin" print
(This will look great over my West Elm Tray Table, plus it was turquoise!)

I have a couple more additions on my wish list but C.Wonder's Golden Highball Glass Set is definitely at the top.

(Love love love!)

xo 'til next time!

Expedit

One of the challenges I had before moving into my cute studio apartment was how to divide my bedroom from my living area. I wanted something that would still let light through since I only have one (big!) window. I was looking at all sorts of panels but then happened to come across the Expedit Shelving Unit at Ikea. I loved the idea that not only could it act as a divider but it was also functional! (Plus, I thought the High Gloss White version would add a nice finished look to my apartment.) I also bought a couple of the Pjas Baskets to fill some of the shelves.

I'm looking to fill some of the empty shelves with books, although I haven't decided on which ones yet, any suggestions?
(I promise I never judge a book by its cover but I'll be enticed if it's a turquoise one!)
